Cultural psychological factors and the data collection among Chinese (American) populations

In the figure below, there might be some sort of "cultural psychology" among the participants especially when data were collected from Chinese Americans, a population deeply influenced by Confucian norms. For instance, on a Likert Scale, when second generation Chinese American students were asked about the importance of their parents' expectation to their motivation to learn Chinese. If we see the data are in a normal distribution like most of them thought the influence of their parents' expectation is "neutral (3 out of 5)" (1 not important at all, 5 very important), we may not be able to draw a conclusion with full confidence that parents' expectation played a neutral or medium level role, as you need to consider the cultural psychology of Chinese when expressing their person views: not too much, not too little.
